Pharmaceutical care emphasizes a patient-centered approach, in which patient-reported outcome measures may serve as valuable tools for assessing patient experiences. Medication-Related Quality of Life (MRQoL) has been effectively utilized to evaluate patient outcomes, particularly in polypharmacy contexts. This study validated the Korean MRQoL by assessing its psychometric properties among 201 Korean adults from community pharmacies. The MRQoL was adapted according to consensus-based standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses examined structural validity, while Pearson correlations evaluated convergent validity with related scales (Medication Regimen Complexity, general health perception, adherence). Results indicated that the Korean MRQoL consists of a 3-factor structure with a marginal model fit (RMSEA = 0.104, CFI=0.981, TLI=0.977, SRMR=0.035) indicating the need for further model refinement. Correlations with related scales were moderate yet statistically significant, supporting moderate convergent validity. The Korean MRQoL is a reliable, valid measure for assessing medication-related quality of life. Further research should investigate medication-related problems across diverse populations to enhance pharmaceutical care.
