Programming plan of pharmaceutical care service within pharmacy service platform in Korea Pharmaceutical Information Center
The pharmacy management program, PharmIT3000 and PM+20, are serviced to local pharmacies by the Korea Pharmaceutical Information Center (KPIC). As the installation and operation of these programs remained unchanged for a long time, various issues and problems related to its system have arisen. A brand-new Pharmacy Service Platform (PSP) is being developed to solve these issues and provide patients with customized data for their daily care. The user-friendly program for PSP will be designed to install or update, and to provide up to date information for pharmacy management. KPIC plans to start with following information: drug-drug interactions and contraindications. Database for pharmaceutical care has already been created for current KPIC homepage, and it will take little time to refine it for insertion into PSP. As additional services may be needed, it will be developed with scalability in mind. The PSP will not only be able to give convenience in pharmacy management such as prescription filling and reimbursement. It will also widen field of local pharmacy that can provide services to the customers.
