Cocaine and Δ9-THC intranasal administration induces conditioned place preference in mice
Conditioned positional preference (CPP) is one of gold standard experimental paradigms used in neuroscience to study animal\'s drug addiction behaviors with i.p. or oral drug administration. We established a mouse intranasal administration model for evaluating drug addiction. We assessed CPP in mice by measuring the time spent in the drug-paired chamber after intranasal-administration in cocaine and THC mice. 20 mg/kg intranasal-administration mice significantly increase cocaine induce CPP score compared to the vehicle group. 2 mg/kg THC mice intranasal administration significantly increased THC induce CPP score compared with the vehicle group. It suggested that cocaine and THC intranasal administration increase mice place preference. Drug intranasal administration CPP is a useful model useful for drug addiction evaluation.
