Preparation of sulfonamides under visible light Irradiation via a one-pot tricomponent reaction of arylazo sulfones, DABSO, and amines
Sulfonamide, a pivotal molecular motif within the realm of organic chemistry, has garnered considerable attention within the scientific community. Over the years, several studies have been conducted to develop straightforward, efficient, and cost-effective methods for synthesizing sulfonamides. Noteworthy, photochemical reactions have emerged as influential tools in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical research, attributable to their environmentally benign attributes, gentle reaction conditions, and facile controllability. Herein, we present a visible-light-induced one-pot tricomponent reaction to generate aryl sulfonamides. The method involved utilizing aryldiazo sulfone, DABSO, and amines as substrates, in the presence of CuBr2 as a coupling catalyst. With this strategy, various sulfonamides including pharmaceutical compounds were successfully yielded with high efficiency.
